The passing of an era
by Kenneth Himschoot on Jan.20, 2009, under Journal
For a couple of months now, today is marked in my iCal as a big day. And so it shall be.
I’m in Eze, France, enjoying this big day with John and Anny.
Failing my New Year’s resolution no 1
by Kenneth Himschoot on Jan.17, 2009, under Journal
Last year, on my last trip on a plane, I counted the number of flights I had taken in 2008. I ended somewhere in the high 20’s. Which, for me, is a lot. I visited Austin, New York, Stockholm, Eze, Monaco, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, … most trips more than once. My main New Year’s resolution would be to be home a little more.
It’s January 17th and I’m stepping on a plane in a couple of minutes. Only a short trip, to Nice, France, this time, but still. The outlook isn’t good: we’re considering going to the Berlin Film Festival, South-by-Southwest, Cannes, …
For once, it would be nice to go on a trip with “her”. It’s been long since our last real vacation. Years (if you don’t include the semi-vacation/semi-work trips to New York and Eze earlier in 2008). But a real vacation? Years. 5 at least. So, I’m replacing one new year’s resolution with another: to go on a real vacation, if only for a few days. Cause she does like to travel.
The new blog
by Kenneth Himschoot on Jan.05, 2009, under Journal
I don’t like posting articles on a blog. I really don’t. I’ll twitter or facebook or flickr anything, but I just don’t like prepping and writing an article and seeing some random joe deface it or give off-topic comments. I don’t.
Things get put out of perspective so fast these days and perception isn’t related to facts on many stories.
But it’s one of my lower-priority new year’s resolutions to actually maintain a journal this year. See what I’m up to. Keep score of the ups and downs.
This blog was built with Wordpress and a customised version of the “pixeled” theme. You can’t recognise the theme, but that’s kindof the idea, right?
So, please, go ahead, comment if you dare
. Convince me this medium ain’t dead.
